Floyd Clack

The Honorable Floyd Clack devoted his life to public service and education. A proud educator and civic leader, he began his career as a teacher and coach in the Flint Community Schools, where he inspired countless young people to pursue excellence. His leadership extended beyond the classroom as he went on to serve as a Flint City Councilman, Genesee County Commissioner, and State Representative in the Michigan Legislature.

Throughout his career, Floyd championed issues of educational equity, youth development, and community advancement. Known for his fairness, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to his constituents, he earned the respect and admiration of peers and residents alike. His work stands as a testament to the power of service and the belief that leadership begins with listening to the people one serves.

Brenda Clack

The Honorable Brenda Clack mirrored her husband’s passion for education and leadership, forging her own remarkable path as both an educator and public servant. A former teacher and administrator in Flint Community Schools, Brenda spent decades shaping young minds, fostering academic achievement, and creating inclusive learning environments that empowered students to thrive.

Her commitment to public service led her to the Michigan House of Representatives, where she served with distinction. During her tenure, Brenda focused on advancing education policy, health care access, and community revitalization, always advocating for equity and opportunity for Flint families. Beyond her legislative work, she served on numerous community boards and initiatives, consistently promoting youth empowerment and civic engagement.

A Shared Legacy

Together, Floyd and Brenda Clack built a legacy rooted in service, faith, and love for their community. Their partnership—both in life and leadership—embodied the values of resilience, compassion, and lifelong learning.

Their enduring influence lives on through The Floyd and Brenda Clack (FBC) Initiative, founded by their granddaughter Hailee Clack, which continues their mission by promoting higher education, leadership development, and community empowerment for the next generation.
